CLT

The “Lumber Sandwich”

Cross-laminated Timber or CLT is an engineered wood product made up a dimensional lumber stacked with adjacent layers at 90 degrees to each other. Each face is glued and then cured under pressure to create a large panel that can be used as floor, wall or roof structure. Each panel has anywhere from 2-7 layers depending on the required strength for each application. CLT is dimensionally stable and and has an very high strength to weight ratio making it very competitive to other material such as concrete and steel.
